Die Gerüchte um die Wii U nehmen nicht ab. Oftmals geht es um die Leistung der Next-Gen-Konsole, dann wieder um den Preis, bis dann Pachter kommt und seine kuriosen Prognosen aus dem Sack lässt.

Wii U Daily ist der Ansicht, dass Nintendo preistechnisch nur sehr wenig für die Konsole verlangen könne, um auf dem Markt bestehen zu können.
Die Webseite stützt sich dabei auf einen angeblichen Bericht, der besagt, dass die Wii U für 299 Dollar in den USA, sowie um 299 Euro in Europa erhältlich sein wird. In Japan würde die Konsole auf 20.000 Yen kommen, was ungefähr 250 US-Dollar wären.

Nicht nur der Preis, sondern auch die Leistung ist wieder einmal im Gespräch. Dieses Mal meldet sich Randy Pitchford, Präsident von Gearbox, zu Wort, welcher Nintendo zu Höchstleistungen drängt.

Er möchte eine Konsole, die mehr Power, als die momentanen HD-Vertreter hat. Vor allem in diesem Bereich möchte er einen besseren Standard erleben, sowohl am TV, wie auch auf dem Pad.

"Our hope at Gearbox is that the final specification for the hardware is much more powerful than the current competitive consoles so that studios like ours can bring a better standard of high definition image not only to television, but to the controller’s screen at the same time."

"We’ve been intrigued by what we’ve seen so far and are encouraging Nintendo to go as aggressively as they can afford with the performance specifications. We imagine that performance specifications are within affordable reach that would provide undeniable performance advantages over competitive platforms. Nintendo have a lot more experience than we do in managing the balance between performance and cost with their hardware, of course, so I do not want to be presumptuous."
