Masahiro Sakurai (Schöpfer von Smash Bros, Kirby etc.) teilte dem "Offiziellen Nintendo Magazin" mit, dass Kid Icarus Uprising das Circle Pad Pro unterstützen wird.

Er ist der Meinung, dass dies vor allem für Linkshänder sehr hilfreich sein wird, da es ev. doch ungewöhnlich wäre, den Stylus in deren rechten Hand zu halten.

Durch die Erweiterung lässt sich die Steuerung so umstellen, dass eben Pit mit dem rechten Pad gesteuert wird und der Stift in der linken Hand gehalten werden kann.

"The way we are using the Circle Pad Pro in the game is to provide support for left-handed gamers," said Sakurai in an exclusive interview with Official Nintendo Magazine. "We've made it possible to use the right Circle Pad in place of the left one."

Sakurai erklärte auch, warum das Entwicklerteam nicht andere Möglichkeiten des Circle Pads Pro in Betracht zog. Grund sei, dass sie erst nach der Ankündigung von Monster Hunter 3G vom neuen Zubehör erfuhren und der Entwicklungsprozess schon viel zu weit fortgeschritten war, um es besser integrieren hätte zu können:

"I didn't know the specs of the Circle Pad Pro, or what it looked like, until Monster Hunter 3G was announced, so we weren't able to do anything big with it in the time we had. Even if we had known about it from the start, I don't know whether we would have used both Circle Pads in that way. This would end up being just the same as controls on other platforms and I think the quick aiming possible with the touch panel suits the game best."

Das Circle Pad Pro erscheint am 27. Jänner, unter anderem im Bundle mit Resident Evil.
