Ich verbitte mir den Vergleich. MM wurde ja unbestreitbar rundum verbessert während man in echoes ein paar fort- und rückschritte gemacht hat .

Ernsthaft? Wäre ja überaus schön; ist sowieso schon wieder längst höchste Zeit für ein neues 2D-Metroid.

ein 2D Metroid wäre wirklich mal wieder fein. aber ich verstehe nicht warum sich das alle für ds wünschen. ich würde gerne mal wieder ein spiel im super metroid stil auf dem fernsehr spielen. von mir aus mit simpler grafik und für wiiware. noch besser wäre aber ein disc spiel mit gigantischem umfang und hübscher 2D Grafik.

Nintendo: New Metroid Is NOT Metroid Dread

Longtime Metroid director Yoshio Sakamoto acknowledged that the long-rumored Metroid Dread is real and may some day be released.

During a Metroid interview yesterday with series director Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja producer Yousuke Hayashi, we slipped in a question that was not about the newly announced Metroid: Other M.

Well, we thought it might be related.

For a few years, there have been rumors that Nintendo was working on a new side-scrolling Metroid game called Metroid Dread. There was even an easter egg reference to entities known as "Metroid Dreads" tucked into Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

So, we wondered, could the long-incubating Metroid: Other M, which we learned was conceived in 2006, be the Dread project?

"He's very familiar with that [game,]" Sakamoto's translator said after posing our question to him. "No, this is different."

We pressed for details on what Dread is. Sakamoto's response: "The day may come when Dread hits the stores, but this one is something that's completely different. This is other M."

Habe es schon erwartet und finde es eigentlich sehr cool, dass es ein Metroid 3.5, also eben zwischen Super Metroid und Metroid Fusion ist.
Seit Fusion wünsche ich mir eine Fortsetzung davon; aber ebenso hoffte sich seit damals, endlich mal die Vorgeschichte von Teil 4 spielen zu können - und diese ist ja nun endlich in Other M enthalten.

Nintendo of America has confirmed that Metroid: Other M will be released in 2010.

The comment comes via a press release that also reminds us that Metroid Prime: Trilogy is still available in stores, despite it being discontinued earlier this week. "Nintendo’s Metroid Prime: Trilogy is the ultimate collector’s edition experience for fans of the Metroid Prime series, combining all three critically acclaimed games on one disc with Wii motion controls. Copies of the game are currently available at major retailers nationwide. The next highly anticipated offering in the Metroid franchise is Metroid: Other M, which will be available this year."

Strangely, Nintendo of Europe then told Eurogamer "that no release date has been confirmed for Other M in Europe and the UK." We're not really sure what to make of that, as there is no release date for the US or Japan either. Surely they don't mean that the release window of "2010" doesn't apply to pal regions?

Metroid: Other M Given Release Window in US

Nintendo of America has updated their release list, and in doing so have given us a little more of an idea of when to expect Metroid: Other M.

The upcoming Team Ninja game is scheduled to arrive in the US during "summer 2010", after being upgraded from "TBA".

Also new to the list were Xenoblade and The Last Story. We have no idea what either of those are, but Kotaku believes they are the western names for Monado: Beginning of the World and Cosmic Walker, as both disappeared from the release list when it was updated.

Unfortunately, Metroid: Other M is still listed as "TBA 2010" for Australia and Europe, as is Super Mario Galaxy 2. Zelda is listed as "TBA" (which could mean anything from tomorrow to 2025) in Japan, and is not even on the list for other territories, suggesting 2011 is the earliest we can expect it.
